| Anti-Bully Training / Bring A Friend nights at TNT Martial Arts! |

Every month we will be covering TNT's own AATTMM anti-bully system during class.
Watch for the dates on Facebook, the message board at TNT, in your email, and during class announcements. This is the one day every month that it is ok to bring a friend to ANY core class for them to get some training...they just need to sign up first via the events page.
AATTMM completion is a rank requirement as well as an extremely important life-skill set to have. We will be covering techniques and making students practice them, so parents, I will be calling on you to do a bit of role playing with your child and other students! Don't worry, its fun!
For the adult classes we'll be doing a bit of verbal combatives using the same AATTMM system. The adult class sessions may contain some language that IS NOT suitable for children's ears. If you have kids that absolutely need to wait for you during your class, bring an ipod or something with headphones/earphones for them to listen to while you are in class, otherwise you will limit your fellow classmates' experience. Parents of our younger adult class students are highly encouraged to participate in the adult classes too!
These nights are also an excellent Bring-A-Friend opportunity, where you bring a buddy, pal, cohort, spouse, associate, or sibling to class with you. No worries, this will be an easy class for them (oh yah, and a GREAT chance to get 20% off your tuition when they get interested in regular classes!). Your friend must be over 18 or have their parent with them to sign them into class AND be here to watch - no exceptions. The stuff we're teaching requires parent particiaption and involvement.
TNT Parents: I would love if you'd come to the adult version of the class as these skills are very useful in the adult world too!!!!
I'd love your attendance, leadership, and participation. Send the link when it comes out to all your local friends and family too...these are skills that will change how bullies are dealt with in our society...come be a part of it!

PS - Experiencing how to position your body and use your words to control and diffuse hostile and difficult situations is an important life skill for everyone. Martial arts is more than just kicking and punching, it encompasses all facets of conflict. I look forward to seeing everyone on the mat!

Too often in today's world, we encounter those that feel they are entitled to what you have. Personally, I'm tired of the 'gimme-gimme' attitude prevalent in many kids, teens, and even adults today. At TNT, you will work hard and you will be rewarded for that hard work. Here, you are expected to fall down, fail, and take risks so we can teach how to get back up, show you perseverance, and how every challenge can be overcome. Here at TNT, Mistakes Are eXcellent!

In most cases, children (and adults) with low self-esteem feel unaccepted in some way - and the effects on their future can be scary!!!
Low self-esteem is related to confidence problems, insecurity, underachievement, anxiety, depression, and sleep problems. It is the underlying cause of fear, panic attacks, lack of assertiveness, and depression. It affects everything someone does, says and thinks. Kids with low self-esteem turn into adults with low self-esteem.

OUR MISSION as a Community Safe School is to teach martial arts students how to take an active role in reducing personal safety issues in their schools and in their neighborhoods. A Community Safe School educates their martial arts students to cope with personal safety issues such as bullies, strangers and abusers. It helps martial arts students recognize that youth can and must be a part of creating a safer community.
A Community Safe School maintains an ongoing effort to promote and teach programs that educate students about personal safety and wellness issues. Educating our students and the community about these issues is an essential requirement of maintaining a strong "community safe” program.
A Community Safe School cooperates with parent organizations, teachers and administrators to insure that students succeed to the full potential of their talents and energies; unhindered by the destructive influence of bullies, strangers and abusers. We develop unique and effective programs to share with the community.
A Community Safe School builds relationships and strong bonds of trust with the community and establishes a Personal Safety Network (PSN) which is an anonymous, safe and non-threatening system for students to report incidences of bullying, child abuse and crime. |

Each of you is a 'Hero in Waiting' who can walk through our door here at TNT right now and transform into a hero for a lifetime. All you need to do is to take action.

This is the type of crap I'm tired of. I'm sick of the absolutely MORONIC 'Zero Tolerance' policies in school systems. I'm sick of kids being victimized over and over and over and over again, and myopic school administrators, teachers, councilors and the like NOT DEALING WITH THE THREATS to our kids! I say its time. TNTs 'Get Back AATTMM' Bully Reduction System would have gone a long way in these situations.
